Karl Wiggishoff

Karl Wiggishoff is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. Karl has achieved a Master's degree in environmental and development law from the University of Stellenbosch and practiced as a specialist in these fields for several years with successful law firms in both KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape. Karl has lectured to final year law students at the University of the Western Cape in environmental, development and planning law. He subsequently secured a development management certificate hosted through Rhodes University, and went on to establish Integrated Development Management (IDM) Consultants as managing director. Karl is competent in an extensive and diverse range of development skills with complementary work experience, coupled to a responsible, reliable and proven business ethic. His memberships include the Law society of South Africa; the Environmental Law Association and the KZN Planning and Development forum.

Carla has been involved in a wide variety of environmental associated NGO work for the past ten years, which work has included the development, implementation, coordination and monitoring of sustainability plans for corporate clients that accomplish conservation and sustainable development within the company (for example solid waste recycling, energy conservation, greenhouse gas reduction, water conservation and environmental reporting). Her work has included the establishment of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, incorporating statutory compliance processes and procedures with particular focus on health and safety issues. Carla has more recently commenced with the undertaking of Basic Assessments (BA) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for various new development projects in KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), including the facilitation and management of the prerequisite Public Participation Process (PPP)..

Rory Conway is an experienced and qualified land surveyor and development planner with a BSc in
Land Surveying. Rory has been the managing director of Stott Milton Conway) for the past 25 years, an established and respected Land Surveying practice (originating in 1926). Apart from specialising in the latest technology in Trimble GPS & Leica survey equipment and software, together with ArcGIS and Model Maker software, Rory's professional capabilities have expanded over the past 5 years to include the assessment, compilation and submission of various development planning applications, with particular focus on the pre-requisite survey, GIS, and town-planning attendances required for any successful development planning submission.

Andries Malwane

Rural development specialist (Associate)

Andries Malwane is a qualified rural and community development specialist, who is fluent in Zulu, Xhosa and English. Andries has diplomas in community development and environmental education from the Universities of Kwazulu-Natal and Rhodes respectively. He has worked closely with rural communities and traditional authorities (incl. tribal councils) on various community-based development projects over the past 15 year, his specific strengths being in community liaison and facilitation, and educational capacity building. Andries has previously worked for KZN Wildlife (Dept. Nature Conservation) and currently sits on the KZN Wildlife committee.

Hugh Ahrens provides the organisation with a strategic and valuable engineering consulting option, primarily for the purposes of guiding the organisation's professional team on project matters requiring specific engineering understanding in terms of their own respective project roles. In addition he is able to provide an independent engineering assessment and review on behalf of client in respect of specific project issues arising during implementation and construction.
